  1. Re-read John 12:15-19. What thoughts and questions come to mind as you read?

  2. In the sermon it was mentioned we're skilled at creating "constitutional monarchies" where Jesus' authority is constrained by our preferences. Can you think of an example from your own life where you've rationalized keeping control rather than surrendering to God?

  3. How does the statement "Jesus is here to fix human hearts, not just fix the world" challenge or reshape your understanding of Christian mission and purpose?

  4. he sermon states: "My mission on earth under the authority of Jesus isn't to protect my kingdom." What "kingdoms" (career, family, comfort, reputation) are you most tempted to protect rather than surrender?

  5. The disciples didn't realize the significance of what was happening until later. When has the Holy Spirit brought something to your remembrance and helped you see God's work in a situation you didn't understand at the time?

  6. Which of the three groups (Pharisees, crowd, or disciples) do you most identify with right now in your spiritual journey? Why?
